Description
A delightful twist on traditional fries, crispy and sweet Air Fryer Apple Fries are a healthier alternative perfect for snacking or dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Peel the apples if desired. Cut them into fry-like sticks and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Set up coating stations: Bowl 1 for flour, Bowl 2 for whisked egg and milk, Bowl 3 for panko breadcrumbs mixed with sugar and cinnamon.
- Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.
Notes
Use crisp apples for the best texture. Store in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer to regain crispiness.
