Chewy, buttery apple brownies infused with warm cinnamon and tender apple bits—an easy, cozy fall dessert that fills your kitchen with sweet, spiced aroma.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) melted unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup (100g) white sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon or apple pie spice
- 1 1/2 cups chopped apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter and both sugars until smooth and glossy.
- Add the egg and mix until creamy.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in chopped apples and nuts if using.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30–40 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use firm, crisp apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture. Avoid overbaking—brownies firm up as they cool. For added caramel flavor, sprinkle brown sugar on top before baking.
