A classic dish combining tender beef and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or gluten-free soy sauce)
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
- Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and stir-fry the garlic for about 30 seconds.
- Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan and add the sauce mixture. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
- Drizzle with sesame oil, season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve over hot rice.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers. Use chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
