Ingredients
- 1 prime rib roast (5-6 pounds)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Fresh rosemary or thyme
- Olive oil
- Beef broth (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Season the prime rib roast generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Rub olive oil over the roast.
- Place fresh rosemary or thyme on top for added flavor.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan and put it in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and roast for an additional 90 to 120 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (125°F for rare, 135°F for medium rare).
- Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
