Description

Delicious and easy-to-make cheesecake bars combining cream cheese, tart apples, and rich caramel.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Fold in the chopped apples, then pour this mixture over the crust in the baking dish.
  5. Drizzle caramel sauce over the cheesecake layer and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set.
  7. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.

Notes

For best results, use tart apples like Granny Smith. Serve chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream or extra caramel.
