Description
Delicious and easy-to-make cheesecake bars combining cream cheese, tart apples, and rich caramel.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chopped apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Fold in the chopped apples, then pour this mixture over the crust in the baking dish.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the cheesecake layer and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set.
- Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.
Notes
For best results, use tart apples like Granny Smith. Serve chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream or extra caramel.
