Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups frozen French fries
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: pickles, ketchup, mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink; drain grease.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer frozen French fries on top of the beef mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the fries.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until fries are golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Serve hot with optional toppings.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider using lean ground beef or ground turkey, and add veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms.
