Description

A quick, creamy one-pan meal made with chicken sausage, tender broccoli, and orzo pasta — full of comfort and flavor in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta (uncooked)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned on both sides.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the orzo and toast briefly in the sausage oil for extra flavor.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 8–10 minutes until orzo is tender.
  7. Fold in broccoli florets and cover again for 3–4 minutes until just tender and bright green.
  8. Finish with lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy this creamy, flavorful one-pan meal.

Notes

For extra creaminess, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or a splash of heavy cream before serving. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
