Description
A quick, creamy one-pan meal made with chicken sausage, tender broccoli, and orzo pasta — full of comfort and flavor in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
- 1 cup orzo pasta (uncooked)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned on both sides.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the orzo and toast briefly in the sausage oil for extra flavor.
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 8–10 minutes until orzo is tender.
- Fold in broccoli florets and cover again for 3–4 minutes until just tender and bright green.
- Finish with lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Serve warm and enjoy this creamy, flavorful one-pan meal.
Notes
For extra creaminess, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or a splash of heavy cream before serving. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
