Ingredients
- 6 croissants, torn into pieces
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the torn croissant pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden.
- Let it cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
Notes
Use day-old croissants for better absorption of the custard mixture. Experiment with different chocolate chips or add nuts and dried fruits for extra flavor.
