Ingredients
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Sift together cocoa powder and salt, then fold into the egg mixture.
- Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cake is springy to the touch.
- Turn the cake out onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar and roll it up with the towel.
- Let the rolled cake cool completely.
- For the filling, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Unroll the cooled cake, spread the whipped cream filling on top, and re-roll the cake.
- For the ganache, melt the semi-sweet chocolate and pour it over the rolled cake.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
