A flavorful crockpot dish featuring tender beef and fresh broccoli in a delicious sauce, perfect for busy days.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin, sliced thin)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
- Place sliced beef in the bottom of the crockpot and pour the sauce over it.
- Cook on low for 360-480 minutes (6-8 hours) or high for 180-240 minutes (3-4 hours).
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the crockpot.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the sauce to thicken it.
- Serve over cooked rice.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the beef in some of the sauce for an hour before cooking. You can add other vegetables for extra nutrition.
