A delicious and easy crockpot meal that brings a taste of takeout into your home with tender beef and fresh broccoli.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef (flank or sirloin), sliced thin
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a crockpot, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Stir to coat the beef well.
- Cover and cook on low for 240-300 minutes or until the beef is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the crockpot.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir it into the crockpot.
- Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked rice.
Notes
Slice the beef thinly against the grain for the best tenderness. You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or snow peas for extra color and nutrition.
