Description
Comforting and tender beef short ribs cooked in a slow cooker for a deliciously simple meal.
Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Sear the ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the ribs to a crockpot.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and onion; sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and rosemary; stir to combine.
- Pour the sauce over the short ribs in the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Searing the ribs adds more flavor to the dish.
