Crockpot Beef Short Ribs

Description

Comforting and tender beef short ribs cooked in a slow cooker for a deliciously simple meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Sear the ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the ribs to a crockpot.
  5. In the same skillet, add garlic and onion; sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  6. Add beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and rosemary; stir to combine.
  7. Pour the sauce over the short ribs in the crockpot.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Searing the ribs adds more flavor to the dish.
