Description

A comforting and satisfying meal featuring tender beef cooked in a slow cooker, served on hoagie rolls with melted provolone cheese and a side of au jus.


Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs beef roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 1-2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese


Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Top with sliced onion and garlic.
  3. In a bowl, combine beef broth, French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender.
  5. Remove the beef, shred it with a fork, and return it to the slow cooker.
  6. Serve on hoagie rolls, topped with provolone cheese and a side of au jus for dipping.

Notes

For added flavor, sear the beef roast before placing it in the slow cooker. Adjust seasoning as needed.
