Description
A comforting and satisfying meal featuring tender beef cooked in a slow cooker, served on hoagie rolls with melted provolone cheese and a side of au jus.
Ingredients
- 3-4 lbs beef roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup French onion soup
- 1-2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
- Top with sliced onion and garlic.
- In a bowl, combine beef broth, French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender.
- Remove the beef, shred it with a fork, and return it to the slow cooker.
- Serve on hoagie rolls, topped with provolone cheese and a side of au jus for dipping.
Notes
For added flavor, sear the beef roast before placing it in the slow cooker. Adjust seasoning as needed.
