Description

Tender and flavorful beef chuck roast in a delicious au jus served in toasted hoagie rolls, perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and add thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender.
  5. Once done, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the juices.
  6. Toast the hoagie rolls and fill them with the shredded beef and cheese.
  7. Optional: Serve with warm au jus for dipping and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the beef chuck roast before placing it in the slow cooker and adjust the beef broth to preference.
