Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (such as Swiss or Gruyère)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Form the mixture into meatballs and place them in the crockpot.
- Add the sliced onions over the meatballs.
- Pour the French onion soup over the meatballs.
- Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or on high for 180-240 minutes.
- During the last 30 minutes of cooking, add the shredded cheese on top.
- Serve with fresh parsley for garnish.
Notes
For a lighter option, use lean ground beef. You can customize the cheese type on top for different flavors.
