Description

Savory meatballs cooked in a rich French onion broth, perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • French bread (for serving)
  • Swiss cheese (for topping)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. Place sliced onions at the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Add the meatballs on top of the onions.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix beef broth and onion soup mix, then pour over the meatballs.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes or on high for 240 minutes.
  6. Serve meatballs with French bread and melted Swiss cheese on top.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for tender meatballs. Experiment with herbs like thyme or rosemary to enhance flavor.
