Savory meatballs cooked in a rich French onion broth, perfect for busy days.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French bread (for serving)
- Swiss cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
- Place sliced onions at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Add the meatballs on top of the onions.
- In a separate bowl, mix beef broth and onion soup mix, then pour over the meatballs.
- Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes or on high for 240 minutes.
- Serve meatballs with French bread and melted Swiss cheese on top.
Notes
Use lean ground beef for tender meatballs. Experiment with herbs like thyme or rosemary to enhance flavor.
