- 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 1 package stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- ½ cup chicken broth
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme (optional)
- Butter, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13” casserole dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, and seasonings.
- Add the shredded chicken and stir to combine well.
- Spread the creamy chicken mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
- In a separate bowl, prepare stuffing using only half the recommended broth for a drier texture.
- Spoon the stuffing evenly over the chicken layer without packing it down.
- Top with pats of butter, if desired, for extra crispiness.
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end to brown the top.
- Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use rotisserie or leftover chicken for extra ease. For a gluten-free version, use GF stuffing and soup. Bake uncovered for a crispy stuffing top.
