A delightful and fluffy dessert with sweet pineapple flavor, perfect for Easter and family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Cherry or walnuts for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- Combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, oil, and water in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake according to package instructions until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Beat the cream cheese in a separate bowl until smooth. Gradually add in powdered sugar, then fold in the drained crushed pineapple and whipped cream.
- Once the cake is cool, slice it in half horizontally. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly on the bottom layer before placing the top layer back on.
- Top with additional whipped cream and cherries or walnuts if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.
Notes
Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing. Use drained crushed pineapple to avoid excess moisture in the filling.
