A colorful and easy-to-make dessert that layers cake, fruit, pudding, and whipped cream, perfect for spring celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 pound cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups mixed fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
- 1 cup vanilla pudding
- 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice (optional)
- Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom.
- Drizzle with sherry or fruit juice if using.
- Add a layer of half of the vanilla pudding followed by half of the whipped cream.
- Add a layer of fresh mixed fruit.
- Repeat the layers by adding the remaining cake cubes, pudding, whipped cream, and top with the remaining mixed fruit.
- Garnish with mint leaves.
- Chill for at least 60 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use flavored pudding like banana or coconut. Substitute pound cake with ladyfingers or sponge cake for a different texture.
