Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chopped apples (peeled and cored)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until well blended.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle with brown sugar, and then top with the remaining batter.
  7. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Drizzle with powdered sugar mixed with lemon juice if desired.

Notes

Make sure your apples are chopped evenly for consistent baking. You can add extra cinnamon on top before baking for added flavor.
