A simple and delicious banana bread recipe perfect for breakfast or snacks, made with ripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.
- Add in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until evenly blended.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently to combine.
- Add the flour, stirring just until it disappears. Do not over-mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Best served toasted with butter or cream cheese. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
