Description
Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, these Fried Mac and Cheese Bites are a perfect snack or party treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small balls or bite-sized pieces.
- Set up a breading station by placing the breadcrumbs in one bowl and the beaten eggs in another.
- Dip each mac and cheese bite in the egg, then roll in the breadcrumbs to coat.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry the mac and cheese bites in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, mix in different types of cheese or add cooked bacon or vegetables.
