Description

A classic dish that combines tender beef, creamy sauce, and mushrooms for a comforting and flavorful meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef tenderloin, sliced into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parsley for garnish
  • Egg noodles for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef strips and cook until browned.
  3. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add onions and garlic, sauté until soft.
  5. Add mushrooms and cook until lightly browned.
  6. Stir in the beef broth and Dijon mustard, bringing to a simmer.
  7. Return the beef to the pan and reduce heat.
  8. Stir in the sour cream and season with salt and pepper.
  9. Cook until heated through but not boiling.
  10. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Slice the beef tenderloin against the grain for tenderness. Avoid rushing the cooking of onions and mushrooms for better flavor. Add a splash of white wine for richness.
