Description
A budget-friendly and easy version of the classic Philly cheesesteak made with ground beef and gooey provolone cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 oz provolone cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef, salt, and pepper; cook until browned and fully cooked.
- Divide the beef mixture into four portions in the skillet, then place a slice of provolone cheese on each portion and cover until melted.
- Toast the hoagie rolls, then fill each roll with the beef and cheese mixture.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Philly cheesesteaks!
Notes
For a healthier option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken, and use whole wheat hoagie rolls or lettuce wraps.
