Description

A comforting breakfast casserole combining buttery croissants, ham, and Swiss cheese, perfect for brunch or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 large buttery croissants, cut into quarters
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chives, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Spread the quartered croissants evenly in the greased baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the diced ham and shredded Swiss cheese over the croissants.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, milk, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layers in the dish, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Press down on the croissants gently with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
  9. Let it cool for about 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh chopped chives before serving.

Notes

Let the casserole sit for a few minutes after baking to set properly. Can be prepared the night before.
