Description

A comforting and hearty dish perfect for family dinners, made with simple ingredients for a delicious and easy meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  4. Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Pour half of the cream of mushroom soup on top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, ground beef, and soup.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  8. Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can add other vegetables like carrots or green beans for extra flavor. For a spicier version, consider adding diced bell peppers or jalapeños. You can prepare it a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator until baking.
