Description

Delightful homemade focaccia bread with a soft and airy texture, perfect for meals or as a standalone treat.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
  • Coarse sea salt for topping


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water with yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt.
  3. Add olive oil and the yeast mixture to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Once risen, transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and stretch it out to fit.
  8. Dimple the surface with your fingers, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle sea salt and rosemary on top.
  9. Let it rest for another 30 minutes, then bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm, enjoying plain or with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Pairs well with soups or salads.
