Delightful homemade focaccia bread with a soft and airy texture, perfect for meals or as a standalone treat.
Ingredients
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water with yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt.
- Add olive oil and the yeast mixture to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead for a few minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Once risen, transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and stretch it out to fit.
- Dimple the surface with your fingers, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle sea salt and rosemary on top.
- Let it rest for another 30 minutes, then bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve warm, enjoying plain or with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Pairs well with soups or salads.
