Description

A simple and delicious homemade white bread recipe that’s perfect for beginners. Enjoy the comforting scent and taste of fresh bread made right in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let it rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the pan and let cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure the water is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly. To keep bread fresh, store in a cool, dry place or freeze for later use.
