Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the pan and let cool on a wire rack.

For best results, ensure the water is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly. To keep bread fresh, store in a cool, dry place or freeze for later use.
