Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Fill a piping bag with the churro dough. Pipe long strips of dough directly into the hot oil.
- Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the churros in this mixture while they are still warm.
Notes
Serve warm with a side of hot chocolate or caramel sauce. Best eaten fresh for optimal taste.
