Description

Enjoy warm, crispy churros made from scratch, perfect for sharing or indulging as a sweet snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)


Instructions

  1. Combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Fill a piping bag with the churro dough. Pipe long strips of dough directly into the hot oil.
  6. Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain.
  8. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the churros in this mixture while they are still warm.

Notes

Serve warm with a side of hot chocolate or caramel sauce. Best eaten fresh for optimal taste.
