Description

A comforting dish that combines meatloaf and macaroni and cheese in a delicious casserole, perfect for families.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup macaroni pasta
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Stir the cooked macaroni and 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese into the beef mixture. Pour in the milk mixture and stir until well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Top with remaining cheddar cheese and spread ketchup evenly on top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your comforting meal!

Notes

For a thicker texture, add more cheese to the mixture before baking. You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative.
