Mongolian Beef is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender beef and a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch in a bowl. Add sliced flank steak and marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef and cook until browned.
- Add garlic and ginger, and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in brown sugar and rice vinegar, and mix well until the sauce thickens.
- Add chopped green onions, and cook for another minute.
- Serve hot with sautéed garlic bok choy or over rice.
Notes
Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for the best texture. Adjust the amount of brown sugar to suit your taste.
