A fun and spooky Monster Meatloaf that blends classic comfort food with Halloween flair. Juicy, flavorful, and decorated with edible ‘monster’ features, it’s perfect for family dinners or Halloween parties.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (or a mix with pork/turkey)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or oats
- 2 slices bread soaked in milk
- 1/2 cup milk or broth
- 2 large eggs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp cayenne (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup ketchup or tomato sauce (for glaze)
- Olives, onion rings, bacon, or cheese for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, soaked bread, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, mustard, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Mix gently by hand until just combined.
- Shape into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- Decorate with onion slices for eyes, olives or bell pepper for teeth, and strips of bacon or cheese for hair.
- Spread ketchup or tomato glaze on top, letting it drip for a spooky look.
- Bake uncovered for 50–60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Rest 10 minutes before slicing to 165°F internal temp.
- For mini versions, shape into cupcake tins and bake 25–30 minutes.
Notes
For best results, don’t overmix the meat mixture and always allow resting time. You can prepare and refrigerate the loaf ahead of time or freeze for later use.
