Ingredients

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 350g water
  • 10g salt
  • 100g sourdough starter


Instructions

  1. Combine the flour and water in a large mixing bowl. Mix until no dry flour remains.
  2. Add the sourdough starter and salt, and mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes for autolyse.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 240-360 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, shape it into a round loaf, and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
  8. Carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
