A classic dessert with a sweet, gooey filling and crunchy pecans, perfect for celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecan halves
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/4 cup bourbon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract; mix well.
- Stir in pecans and chocolate chips or bourbon if using.
- Pour the filling into the pie crust.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added flavor. Store covered at room temperature for up to two days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for 2-3 months.
