Description

A fun and delicious chicken dish featuring a crunchy pretzel coating and a creamy mustard-cheddar sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up a breading station: place flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and crushed pretzels in a third.
  4. Dip each chicken breast first in flour, then in the eggs, and finally coat with pretzels.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the coated chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. For the sauce, melt the cheddar cheese in a saucepan over low heat, then whisk in the Dijon mustard and milk until smooth.
  8. Serve the pretzel chicken drizzled with mustard-cheddar sauce.

Notes

Serve with sides like mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables, and store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
