These Salisbury steak meatballs are hearty, flavorful, and perfect for busy days, letting your slow cooker do all the work.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Place meatballs in the slow cooker.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together beef broth and onion soup mix. Pour this mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. If you want a thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with water. Stir it into the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving and cook until the sauce thickens.

Notes

Serve hot over mashed potatoes or buttered noodles. Cool before storing in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
