Description

Fun and delicious Red Velvet Cake Pops that combine rich chocolate and vanilla flavors, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 box red velvet cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can cream cheese frosting (16 oz)
  • 12 oz white chocolate or candy melts
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Prepare a 9×13-inch cake pan by greasing it.
  2. Mix the red velvet cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a large bowl. Pour the batter into the pan and bake according to the package instructions. Once done, let it cool completely.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl.
  4. Add the cream cheese frosting to the cake crumbs. Mix well until fully combined. The mixture should be moist and hold together when squeezed.
  5. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in size. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Insert the cake pop sticks into each ball until halfway through.
  7. Freeze the cake balls for about 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  8. Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  9. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s fully covered. Allow any excess to drip off before placing it back on the parchment paper.
  10. Sprinkle with decorations while the coating is still wet. Let the cake pops sit until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Make sure the cake is completely cool before crumbling it to avoid melting the frosting. If the mixture is too crumbly, add more frosting until it holds together well.
