  • Author: Clara
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 12 bars

Description

Warm, buttery crust, gooey apple filling, and a glossy drizzle of salted caramel  these Salted Caramel Apple Bars capture the cozy spirit of fall in every bite. Perfect for potlucks, Thanksgiving, or a quiet Sunday treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 45 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup salted caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix flour, butter, and brown sugar until crumbly. Press half into the prepared pan for the crust.
  3. Toss sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Spread evenly over the crust.
  4. Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly.
  6. Warm caramel sauce and drizzle evenly over the bars. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Cool for 20 minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use crisp apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best texture. For a gourmet twist, stir a bit of bourbon into the caramel before drizzling.
