Description
A crispy and flavorful dish that’s quick to make for weeknight dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup water
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1-2 teaspoons sesame seeds
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg and add water.
- Dip chicken pieces in the egg mixture, then coat them in the flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken pieces until they are golden brown and cooked through, then remove them and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add the fried chicken, tossing to coat.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
For best results, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying and avoid overcrowding the pan.
