Description

A crispy and flavorful dish that’s quick to make for weeknight dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg and add water.
  2. Dip chicken pieces in the egg mixture, then coat them in the flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken pieces until they are golden brown and cooked through, then remove them and drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add the fried chicken, tossing to coat.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

For best results, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying and avoid overcrowding the pan.
