Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4-5 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- Butter (for mashed potatoes)
- Milk (for mashed potatoes)
- 4 slices of bread, toasted
- Brown gravy mix or homemade brown gravy
Instructions
- Place the chopped onion, minced garlic, and beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Cook on low for 480 minutes (8 hours) or until the beef is fork-tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, prepare the mashed potatoes by boiling the chopped potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk.
- Toast the bread slices.
- To assemble, place the toasted bread on a plate, add a layer of mashed potatoes, followed by the shredded beef, and smother with brown gravy.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, sear the beef before adding it to the slow cooker. Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or peas for added nutrition.
