Description
Delightful soft fried buns that are easy to make and can be customized with various fillings. Perfect for snacks or desserts.
Ingredients
- 150 ml lukewarm milk
- 70 ml lukewarm water
- 7 g instant yeast
- 12 g honey
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 7 g salt
- 30 g unsalted butter (room temperature)
Instructions
- Stir the yeast into the lukewarm milk, water, and honey. Allow the mixture to rest until it becomes foamy.
- Add the flour, salt, and butter to the yeast mixture. Knead everything until it is smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, about 60 to 90 minutes.
- Once risen, divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and fill them with your favorite filling if desired.
- Allow the shaped buns to rest for another 30 to 40 minutes until they become puffy.
- Heat oil to 175°C (350°F) in a deep pan. Fry the buns in small batches until they are golden brown.
- Drain the fried buns on paper towels and serve plain, sugar-dusted, or filled.
Notes
Ensure milk and water are lukewarm for proper yeast activation. Knead thoroughly for a good texture.
