Description

Delicious bite-sized pretzel snacks made using sourdough discard, perfect for sharing or enjoying alone.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, baking soda, and salt, mixing well.
  3. Gradually add the flour until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a bite-sized ball.
  6. Place the pretzel bites on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Boil a pot of water and dip each pretzel bite for about 30 seconds, then return them to the baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  9. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve these bites warm with cheese sauce, mustard, or spicy nacho dip. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
