Description
Delicious bite-sized pretzel snacks made using sourdough discard, perfect for sharing or enjoying alone.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
- Cooking spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, baking soda, and salt, mixing well.
- Gradually add the flour until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a bite-sized ball.
- Place the pretzel bites on the prepared baking sheet.
- Boil a pot of water and dip each pretzel bite for about 30 seconds, then return them to the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve these bites warm with cheese sauce, mustard, or spicy nacho dip. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
