Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough starter discard
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Combine the sourdough starter discard, warm water, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and let it sit for about 15 minutes until bubbly.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into a loaf or desired shape and place it on a baking sheet.
- Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing and enjoy!
Notes
Store the bread in a paper bag at room temperature for a few days. For longer storage, wrap it tightly and freeze for up to three months.
