Description

Spiderweb Marshmallow Treats are a playful Halloween dessert with chewy cereal bars draped in gooey marshmallow strands that look just like spooky spiderwebs.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups rice cereal
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows + extra for webs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: food coloring (orange, purple, or green)
  • Optional: dark chocolate drizzle
  • Optional: candy eyes or edible spiders

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in rice cereal until evenly coated.
  5. Press mixture into a greased and parchment-lined baking dish. Let cool for 20 minutes.
  6. Melt extra marshmallows separately and let cool slightly.
  7. Dip fingers or a fork into melted marshmallow, stretch thin strands, and drape over cooled base to create a spiderweb effect.
  8. Decorate with optional chocolate drizzle, candy eyes, or edible spiders.
  9. Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
