Description
Spiderweb Marshmallow Treats are a playful Halloween dessert with chewy cereal bars draped in gooey marshmallow strands that look just like spooky spiderwebs.
Ingredients
- 6 cups rice cereal
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows + extra for webs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: food coloring (orange, purple, or green)
- Optional: dark chocolate drizzle
- Optional: candy eyes or edible spiders
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in rice cereal until evenly coated.
- Press mixture into a greased and parchment-lined baking dish. Let cool for 20 minutes.
- Melt extra marshmallows separately and let cool slightly.
- Dip fingers or a fork into melted marshmallow, stretch thin strands, and drape over cooled base to create a spiderweb effect.
- Decorate with optional chocolate drizzle, candy eyes, or edible spiders.
- Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
Notes
Best served the same day for the most dramatic web effect. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
