Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups buttercream frosting (or stabilized whipped cream)
- Candy eyes, mini chocolate chips, or black decorating gel for faces

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture until smooth.
- Spoon batter into liners, filling each 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool cupcakes completely on a wire rack.
- Fill a piping bag fitted with a large round tip with buttercream frosting.
- Pipe tall swirls on each cupcake to form ghost shapes.
- Decorate with candy eyes, chocolate chips, or dots of gel to create ghost faces.
