Description

Delicious and festive Tree Meringue Cookies that are light, airy, and perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Colored sprinkles (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until foamy.
  3. Add cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and a few drops of green food coloring to achieve the desired shade.
  6. Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Decorate with colored sprinkles if desired.
  8. Bake for 1-2 hours or until the meringues are dry and lift off easily from the parchment.
  9. Once cool, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
